Beautiful and seductive Rei is an assassin with the codename Chimera. But there is more to Rei than meets the eye, for she is both man and woman in one body...
Review: Chimera (Angel of Death)
Chimera (Angel of Death) is mainly about Rei, a pretty girl(?). Killing people is her job
because she's an assassin.
The first part shows us how Rei exacts her revenge on the person who had
maligned her in the past, and the second part features a mission gone wrong.
To describe Chimera any further would just reveal all the surprises it has in
store. To its credit, Chimera is rather interesting.
The story unfolds in a decent pace, and it's the first time I've encountered a
hermaphrodite in the person of Rei (who can have sex both ways -- as a man and
as a woman).
The scene where Rei finally strips of all her clothes kind of reminded me of
the revelation scene in "The Crying Game", except that in Chimera, the other
party readily accepted Rei's male organ (the guy in "The Crying Game" puked).
There's actually more plot than sex, and that can either be good or bad
depending on your preference. Good for me though, as I've never really liked sex-every-other-minute hentai
anime.
The art and animation are quite good.
Rei is attractive enough, and the men she encounters are rather handsome. Sex
is portrayed with mostly upper body nudity. There's also a certain amount of violence and gore.
To be honest, I'm left quite speechless by Chimera. Not that it's good, and not that it's bad. It's okay, and it's actually better
than most hentai titles I've seen.
Miscellanies: Chimera (Angel of Death)
The difference between the Director's Cut and the Edited Version is three
minutes of sex scenes.
