When the spaceship Muze's all-girl crew ends up investigating the cargo ship
Zogne, little did they know that they had bitten off more than they could
chew.
They discover that everyone aboard the Zogne is dead... except for one
incredibly beautiful girl named Flair.
The problem is, Flair seems to have lost her memory. She can't remember who
she is or what had happened on the Zogne.
The crew decides to take Flair with them, and shortly after the members start
dying one by one. But Hikari, Muze's computer expert, uncovers some shocking facts about
Flair... and she must do everything she can to make sure that the Muze doesn't
end up like the Zogne!
Alien from the Darkness Anime Review
After seeing Alien from the Darkness' cheesy video cover, I couldn't help but
have low expectations for the show itself.
Alien from the Darkness starts off by having Muze's all-girl crew go into the Zogne to check
things out. Okay, that's typical -- you see an aimlessly drifting ship, you go in and see
what's up.
After walking around a bit, the crew discovers dead bodies all over -- the men
look like all life had been sucked out of them, and the women are naked and
covered with a slimy green substance.
Then it dawns on you... an alien must have been responsible for this grim
scenario (I mean come on, just one look at the title will tell you that).
The plot runs along the same vein as Sigourney Weaver's Alien movies, just
think of it as the animated adult version. There are a lot of good things going for Alien from the Darkness.
Despite its revealing title,
there is enough mystery to pull you right in. Alien from the Darkness also surprised me with its
strikingly beautiful character designs.
These girls are among the best-looking ones I've seen in hentai-dom, and their
personalities even manage to shine through despite the brevity of their roles.
The art and animation are of excellent quality, and don't scream low-budget
like the video cover does. Sexually speaking, Alien from the Darkness features only two kinds of activity: lesbian
lovemaking and tentacle rape.
Everything is portrayed very graphically, and viewers are treated to an eyeful
of no-holds-barred nudity and sex.
Let's just say that there's a tentacle for every orifice. One thing that didn't quite sit well with me is the unimaginative conclusion. It left me wishing that they had thought of something better instead of
resorting to the usual cliché.
Overall though, I'd say Alien from the Darkness is a fine piece of adult entertainment. It's got a good story, an interesting (and gorgeous) cast of characters, and
most importantly (in an H anime) explicit nudity and sex.
Lesson of the day: Don't judge a video by its cover.
Miscellanies: Alien from the Darkness
Hikari really reminds me of the Sailormoon character Ami Mizuno /
Sailormercury. Make sure to watch until after the credits in order to see the
real ending.
