Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf - Anime Review

Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf

When Terry and Andy Bogard were kids, their father was murdered right before their eyes.

Terry and Andy have both sworn to avenge his death, promising to meet again after ten years of training on their own.

But only one son will inherit the most powerful secret move from their father's master... and he alone will face the killer.

Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf Anime Review

Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf has a clear-cut plot that doesn't require any extra effort to appreciate. I'm not saying that this is bad. I'm no Fatal Fury or action fan but I actually enjoyed this anime.

While it is predictable, everything was done just right -- from the pacing to the action sequences, and it's this harmony of elements that makes this OAV worth watching.

Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf

Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf anime gives viewers a very good backgrounder on two main Fatal Fury characters - Terry and Andy Bogard.

The characterization is quite good as the brothers' distinct personalities are brought out very well. I have no complaints about the art and animation either.

Although not really exceptional, I thought everybody looked okay and the fighting scenes pulled off nicely.

Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf movie has all the things that make a good fighting-game based anime -- a solid story, great action, and good characterization.

Of course, if you want something thought-provoking, this won't do for you. But then again profundity isn't really a quality you find in fighting-game based anime.

Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf

I'd recommend this to fans of the genre, or to those who just want a smashing good time.

Miscellanies: Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf

The Fatal Fury Motion Picture has better art and animation, but I didn't like it as much as I did this one.
