The year is 0158 of the Toward Stars Calendar. Humankind has learned to live
in space and cooperate with other races. But it turns into a world of anarchy
were pirates dwell and outlaws clash into deep space.
Gene Starwind is a merchant who runs a mechanic shop with his partner 11-year
old partner Jim Hawking.
When Gene meets an outlaw named Hilda and revives the mysterious android
Melfina, he gets into more trouble than he bargained for. He soon finds
himself chased by a deadly Tao priest, cut-throat pirates, fellow outlaws, and
to top it all off... beautiful women.
Thus Gene sets off on an adventure to find the Galactic Leyline -- which
offers the ultimate power... something that will change his life forever.
Review: Outlaw Star
Outlaw Star is a true masterpiece. The plot is very intriguing, and each episode makes the search for the
Galactic Leyline more and more exciting. The mood changes a lot, swinging back
and forth from happy to depressing and back.
Characterization is good. Each character has his/her own unique personality
and motive.
The mechanical designs are the best I have seen yet and the ship-to-ship
battles are very impressive. With its breathtaking action and sophisticated
story, Outlaw Star is a must-have for any anime video library.
If you love sci-fi and adventure, Outlaw Star Funimation is for you.
Miscellanies: Outlaw Star
I think Hilda and Gene make a much better couple than Gene and Melfina. Each
DVD contains 8-9 eps, making it a very good deal.
