The first thing you'll notice about Angelium is the striking background
designs of palace interiors and Greek-style buildings, something quite rare
for a hentai title.
This is just a taste of the quality to come as we are introduced to some very
interesting and solid looking characters with surprisingly fluid animation to
back it all up.
So as this feast for the eyes continues we follow three angels who're on a
quest to help the people of the human world with all their various problems.
Hesperis, Euproshne and Aurora first arrive at a flower shop that's under
attack by a pair of street thugs who're trying to get its poor owner to give
up her business.
Needless to say, our three heroines don't take too kindly to their strong-arm,
flower smashing tactics and quickly show them what for.
They decide to stick around for a while to help her out with the store while
their generosity scores them a place to live for the time being.
After establishing a base of operations they each assume various little jobs,
with Hesperis putting on a play for children, Euproshne giving swim lessons,
and Aurora helping out the flower girl with running her store.
While Aurora just has to put up with holding off those gangsters, in all
probability a byproduct of her being rather loli and thus not involved in
hardly any of the sex scenes, the other two have quite the special encounters
as events unfold.
The foremost of which happens at the pool where Euproshne is teaching. She's working with Yorishiro, one of the part-time instructors who happened to
deliver a package to the flower shop the day before.
After sneaking a peak at a nipple slip of hers, Yorishiro practically drowns
himself as he tries to cover up his inability to control his lower expansion.
After they get themselves out of the water Euproshne notices his excited
disposition, a situation which she's prepared to remedy.
This situation plays right into the hands of Zeus, who promptly takes over
Yorishiro's body and enjoys her feminine wiles for himself.
That's only the start for this luckiest of unlucky guys as he subsequently
visits Hesperis after she's done with her play and again gets taken over by
Zeus as he goes all the way with her.
The guy just can't catch a break, but Zeus is willing to throw him a bone.
After a sex demon shows up in the middle of their fun Zeus promptly flees
leaving Hesperis and Yorishiro to battle it on their own' what a guy!
The demon beast is one of Hades' monstrosities presently being used by
Persephone, a sexy demon whose been ordered to disrupt whatever the angels try
and do.
She's a little nymph who's quite interested in having a little sex while she
spends her time on the human plane, although her plans always seem to get
interrupted by the angels she's working against.
As the OVA continues they carry on with their little side jobs, including a
sexy swimsuit raffle and a shrine maiden job, as Persephone not only tries to
screw up their plans, but Yorishiro as well.
The culmination of which leads to the greatest crime perpetrated by Angelium,
the sex scenes are not only few and far between, but they're incredibly short
to boot!
These highly detailed, well animated scenes only happen a couple times each
episode and only last for a minute or two.
It's such a shame that a title that could have been comparable to such
stalwarts as Another Lady Innocent and Bible Black has to fail in the one area
a hentai title shouldn't. That's not to say the scenes are bad in any way, because they surely aren't.
The little we do get are great, even throwing in a bit of tentacle play for
good measure, which is why their being so short brings a tear to one's eye. That's the only reason the sex rating is so low, otherwise one can only
imagine where it may have ended up.
With a comedic and lighthearted energy to it, Angelium is as fun to watch as
the wonderful sex scenes, even if they are too short and infrequent for a
hentai title.
Its life was cut down before its time, ending before any sort of
actual conclusion, but you shouldn't let that keep you from watching it. The
little we do have shouldn't be missed.
